Description

The Akoestipanel PF element is a prefabricated system designed to improve both acoustic and thermal insulation of walls and ceilings. Each panel integrates a decoupling profile to reduce impact noise, a cavity filled with high-quality insulation for airborne noise and heat reduction, and a solid fibre-reinforced gypsum board that adds mass for improved sound insulation. The system can be installed on flat, dry and stable substrates such as masonry, concrete or timber boards, providing consistent performance with minimal loss of space.

Properties

The combination of decoupling, cavity insulation and a solid board significantly reduces airborne noise, including speech, music and traffic noise, while also improving thermal insulation. Prefabricated elements ensure consistent quality and faster installation. The decoupling profile prevents vibration transfer to the substrate, while the cavity insulation and solid board optimise density and acoustic performance.

Applications

The Akoestipanel PF element is suitable for both refurbishment and new-build projects where walls or ceilings require improved acoustic and thermal performance. Elements are mechanically fixed using plugs or screws, installed tightly together, and finished with a secondary surface layer such as 12.5 mm fibre-reinforced gypsum. It is suitable for residential, office and commercial buildings where comfort, sound reduction and installation efficiency are important.

Answers to common questions

Answers to the most common technical and practical questions.
How do I determine which Akoestikon element is suitable for my project?

Selection depends on factors such as room function, noise source, required level of sound insulation or absorption, and fire safety requirements. Merford specialists can provide advice based on measurements, acoustic calculations and specific project requirements.

Does the substrate require special preparation?

Yes, the substrate must be flat, dry and sufficiently stable for correct installation. Irregularities or unstable surfaces can affect both performance and installation quality.

How are Akoestikon panels installed?

The panels are modular and can be mounted on both walls and ceilings. Installation can be done directly onto the structure or via a frame. Thanks to their lightweight design and modular system, installation is fast and requires no major structural modifications.
