Description

Noisy attic spaces can reduce comfort. Akoestiroof SW is a ready-to-install roof renovation system that reduces both impact and airborne noise. Each element combines a resilient core of Akoestifoam HD with a 14 mm Akoestipanel i14 top layer, providing stiffness and improved acoustic performance. Elements measuring 2,600 × 600 mm are installed on the existing timber floor with a bituminous vapour barrier to ensure proper adhesion and acoustic decoupling.

Properties

The system provides high levels of acoustic insulation while also contributing to thermal performance, with a thermal conductivity of λ = 0.04 W/(m·K). The prefabricated top layer ensures consistent performance and structural stability. Akoestiroof SW is delivered ready-to-install, allowing for fast and uniform installation. Its compact build makes it suitable for interior renovations where minimal build-up and high acoustic performance are required.

Applications

The system is ideal for the renovation of pitched roofs with timber floor plates in residential or light commercial buildings. The elements are laid over the floor plate with a bituminous vapour barrier, followed by roof installation. This improves both acoustic and thermal performance without the need for full roof replacement.

Answers to common questions

Answers to the most common technical and practical questions.
How do I determine which Akoestikon element is suitable for my project?

Selection depends on factors such as room function, noise source, required level of sound insulation or absorption, and fire safety requirements. Merford specialists can provide advice based on measurements, acoustic calculations and specific project requirements.

Does the substrate require special preparation?

Yes, the substrate must be flat, dry and sufficiently stable for correct installation. Irregularities or unstable surfaces can affect both performance and installation quality.

How are Akoestikon panels installed?

The panels are modular and can be mounted on both walls and ceilings. Installation can be done directly onto the structure or via a frame. Thanks to their lightweight design and modular system, installation is fast and requires no major structural modifications.
