NoiseTrap Blox
Absorption based on metamaterial principle (Helmholtz resonator)
Weighted sound reduction index up to Rw = 15 dB
Rain resistant and UV-stable
Where ventilation is required, noise control must not be compromised. NoiseTrap Blox elements form a modular acoustic louvre system that combines airflow with effective sound reduction. The system specifically targets low frequencies while maintaining a limited installation depth. Thanks to its integrated click system, elements can be installed horizontally or vertically, enabling fast assembly, design flexibility, and easy scalability.
Elements measure 236.5 × 236.5 × 306 mm and 232 × 232 × 306 mm in connected configuration. They can be combined without limitation within an installation frame. The internal X-shaped chamber structure, based on the Helmholtz resonator principle, achieves Rw values of up to 15 dB. The NoiseTrap Blox is manufactured from lightweight, recyclable polypropylene and is available in RAL 9011 and RAL 7074, with optional fine mesh grille or a foam-free variant.
The NoiseTrap Blox is suitable for acoustic enclosures, façades, and ventilation openings in industrial installations and energy or process environments. It performs particularly well in applications with high airflow and limited installation space, where both ventilation capacity and noise reduction are essential.

Answers to common questions
The lifespan depends on the application and environment, but Merford panels are designed for decades of use in industrial and HVAC settings. Materials such as galvanized or stainless steel and moisture-resistant acoustic fillings ensure consistent performance, even under fluctuating temperatures and humidity.
Yes. The modular panels can be quickly assembled, disassembled, and relocated, making them suitable for temporary enclosures, test setups, or reconfigurable industrial spaces. This provides flexibility for renovation projects or changing production environments.
Merford's modular systems are optimized depending on type: the NoiseTrap® Panel and Blox are specifically designed for enhanced low-frequency attenuation, while SKW provides improved low-to-mid frequency performance due to a higher mass. Our SKS, MSK and G14EP systems primarily provide effective attenuation in the mid-to-high frequency range, with performance gradually decreasing toward lower frequencies.
Yes, the modular design makes it possible, for example, to integrate NoiseTrap® Panels with SKS or MSK walls. This allows airflow management and structural sound insulation to be combined in a single installation, provided that installation sequence and air passage are properly considered.
