Akoestiplex MXT
Profile system for sound insulation of roofs, façades, walls and ceilings
Weighted sound reduction index up to Rw = 80 dB(A)
Suitable for wooden and masonry substrate constructions
Akoestiplex MXT is a flexible profile system designed to enhance sound insulation in pitched roofs, façades, walls and ceilings. The system combines resilient profiles with Akoestiwol infill and single or double cladding, providing effective reduction of both impact and airborne noise. The profiles are FSC certified and suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, making them suitable for refurbishment and new-build projects.
The system delivers a weighted sound reduction index of up to Rw = 80 dB(A) and also contributes to thermal insulation. The combination of high-density material and Akoestiwol infill ensures structural stability and consistent acoustic performance. The system can be adapted to the substrate and the required finish, offering both functional and aesthetic flexibility.
Akoestiplex MXT is installed on timber or masonry substrates. Profiles are mechanically fixed through the base flange at 600 mm centres. This is followed by a tight-fitting cavity infill and single or double cladding. For outdoor applications, a waterproof or weather-resistant finish can be applied. The system accommodates a wide range of cladding and finishing options while delivering high acoustic performance in both refurbishment and new-build projects.

Answers to common questions
Selection depends on factors such as room function, noise source, required level of sound insulation or absorption, and fire safety requirements. Merford specialists can provide advice based on measurements, acoustic calculations and specific project requirements.
Yes, the substrate must be flat, dry and sufficiently stable for correct installation. Irregularities or unstable surfaces can affect both performance and installation quality.
The panels are modular and can be mounted on both walls and ceilings. Installation can be done directly onto the structure or via a frame. Thanks to their lightweight design and modular system, installation is fast and requires no major structural modifications.
