Description

Flat or slightly pitched roofs can easily transmit noise to the spaces below. Akoestiroof AVW-i is a prefabricated floating roof panel system that provides high acoustic insulation. Each element combines a resilient core of Akoestifoam HD with a 14 mm Akoestipanel i14 top layer. This delivers form stability, additional sound insulation and long-term stability under load. Panels measure 2,600 × 600 mm, with core thickness adjusted to achieve the required level of noise reduction. Installation is suitable on timber or concrete subfloors, or metal roofs with timber decking, using a bituminous vapour barrier for optimal performance.

Properties

The Akoestiroof AVW-I elements effectively reduce both impact and airborne noise while also contributing to thermal insulation, with a thermal conductivity of λ = 0.04 W/(m·K). Delivered ready-to-install, they allow fast and consistent installation. The Akoestipanel i14 top layer provides structural support and ensures consistent acoustic performance. This combination makes the panels suitable for both simple and more complex roof configurations.

Applications

Akoestiroof AVW-I is ideal for renovation and new-build projects where flat or slightly pitched roofs require enhanced acoustic separation. Elements are laid over a bituminous vapour barrier, fully secured with hot-applied bitumen and fixed with adhesive and screws. Roofing can be applied after installation. The system supports a wide range of roof finishes and is suitable for both standard and complex roof designs.

Answers to common questions

Answers to the most common technical and practical questions.
How do I determine which Akoestikon element is suitable for my project?

Selection depends on factors such as room function, noise source, required level of sound insulation or absorption, and fire safety requirements. Merford specialists can provide advice based on measurements, acoustic calculations and specific project requirements.

Does the substrate require special preparation?

Yes, the substrate must be flat, dry and sufficiently stable for correct installation. Irregularities or unstable surfaces can affect both performance and installation quality.

How are Akoestikon panels installed?

The panels are modular and can be mounted on both walls and ceilings. Installation can be done directly onto the structure or via a frame. Thanks to their lightweight design and modular system, installation is fast and requires no major structural modifications.
