Akoestiplex MXR
Flexible edge profile system for optimal acoustic decoupling
Compatible with Akoestifloor MXR floating floor systems
Suitable for wooden, concrete, or metal floor constructions
Akoestiplex MXR is an edge profile designed to complement the Akoestifloor MXR floating floor system. The profile combines a resilient core of Akoestifoam HDD, a high-density acoustic foam that reduces impact and airborne noise, with a factory-applied 18 mm multiplex top layer for rigidity and long-term performance. It is installed along the edges of timber or concrete floors, or metal roofs with a timber deck. In combination with foam strips, it prevents direct contact between the floating floor and surrounding walls, optimising the acoustic performance of the entire system.
The ready-to-install profiles ensure consistent spacing and effective edge insulation. The Akoestifoam HDD core provides excellent impact and airborne noise reduction. The multiplex top layer enhances durability and supports a wide range of floor finishes. All profiles are FSC certified and designed to integrate seamlessly with the Akoestifloor MXR system, maintaining the decoupled profile concept and ensuring effective sound insulation throughout the floor structure.
Akoestiplex MXR is installed along the floor perimeter before laying the Akoestifloor MXR elements. It is suitable for both refurbishment and new-build projects where maximum sound insulation is required. By preventing direct contact between the floating floor and walls or structural elements, the system maintains its acoustic integrity. Combined with foam strips and the Akoestifloor MXR elements, it forms a high-quality floating floor solution for residential, commercial and technical spaces.

Answers to common questions
Selection depends on factors such as room function, noise source, required level of sound insulation or absorption, and fire safety requirements. Merford specialists can provide advice based on measurements, acoustic calculations and specific project requirements.
Yes, the substrate must be flat, dry and sufficiently stable for correct installation. Irregularities or unstable surfaces can affect both performance and installation quality.
The panels are modular and can be mounted on both walls and ceilings. Installation can be done directly onto the structure or via a frame. Thanks to their lightweight design and modular system, installation is fast and requires no major structural modifications.
