Sound insulation with Akoestikon® for Rotterdam Ahoy

Living alongside a busy motorway requires smart solutions. For the new Canvas Living development in Rotterdam, we designed custom-made façade grilles that let fresh air in while keeping traffic noise out. This creates a healthy and comfortable living environment right in the heart of the city.

NMBS's mission in Belgium is: ‘To guarantee reliable, safe and efficient trains that you can count on day after day.’ To succeed in this, the organisation needs to invest in a high-end facility where testing can be carried out following thorough maintenance work. Merford has played a major role in delivering the most optimal acoustic solutions over the past years.

In the centre of Brussels, historic buildings have undergone sustainable renovations while retaining their original purpose. The challenge was to modernise these buildings without increasing noise pollution for the surrounding area. This project demonstrates how smart sound reduction solutions help to minimise noise pollution and create a pleasant living and working environment in a busy city.

In the heart of Diksmuide, a new meeting place is taking shape: the Boterhalle. This events hall will host youth groups, local clubs, and cultural activities. Its location in the historic town centre made one thing clear: how do you make sure music and performances sound great without disturbing the neighbours? With Merford’s Akoestikon roof system, that challenge is easily met. The system controls sound, allowing parties, lectures, and performances to take place without causing disruption.

In Gennep, Enexis upgraded its transformer station with higher-capacity transformers and noise-reducing solutions from Merford, carefully tailored to the surrounding environment. This approach increases grid capacity while reducing noise disturbance for nearby residents.

At Hollandse Kust Noord, Merford designed and installed custom-made acoustic solutions for TenneT’s onshore station, reducing low-frequency noise and supporting a quieter, cleaner energy transition.

Merford UK delivered custom demountable SKS enclosures for three transformers at the East Anglia THREE offshore wind project, providing effective noise control and supporting a reliable, future-ready HVDC infrastructure.

Merford supplied custom acoustic baffles and panels for the production of the Multi-Functional Ground Support Equipment (MFGSE) at Sun Test Systems, creating a quiet and safe production environment.

Merford supplied acoustic doors and insulation for the renovated NBC Congress Centre, combining comfort, noise control and sustainability in a future-proof building.
