Description

Vibraflex UF effectively reduces the transmission of vibrations and impact noise from machines and floors, protecting both structures and equipment. This resilient underlay absorbs mechanical energy and maintains its elasticity over time. Vibraflex UF can be installed under various floor types, including concrete, timber, and floating screeds, providing consistent vibration reduction without affecting floor stability.

Properties

The underlay delivers reliable vibration isolation and impact noise reduction. It is flame-retardant to DIN 4102 Class B2 and remains resilient under repeated loading. Thickness can be tailored to the expected floor load and vibration frequency. Vibraflex UF is resistant to oil, grease, and standard cleaning products, and can be easily cut and installed, making it suitable for long-term industrial and commercial use.

Applications

Vibraflex UF is ideal for use under machines, compressors, pumps, and floor-mounted equipment, as well as in technical rooms and industrial floors where vibration reduction is crucial. It can be combined with different floor finishes such as concrete, tiles, timber, or screed, providing both structural protection and vibration isolation.

Answers to common questions

Answers to the most common technical and practical questions.
Can the acoustic performance be predicted for a specific space?

Merford can perform acoustic analyses or simulations to predict noise levels and reverberation times based on material selection, room dimensions, and finishes, ensuring the right solution is designed.

How maintenance-friendly are these materials?

Our acoustic materials generally require minimal maintenance. Dusting and cleaning is usually sufficient to maintain long‑term performance.

What is the difference between vibration isolation, sound insulation, and sound absorption?
  • Vibration isolation reduces mechanical vibrations from machines or equipment, preventing transmission to the building structure or floor.
  • Sound insulation prevents sound from passing from one space to another, e.g., between rooms or to the exterior.
  • Sound absorption reduces echo and reverberation within a space by damping sound waves, improving comfort and speech intelligibility.

Merford materials can provide one or more of these effects depending on the product type, such as absorption panels for rooms or isolation around ventilation units.
