Soliboard TA
Weighted sound reduction index up to Rw = 26 dB
Reduces structure-borne vibrations in building elements
Suitable for floors, walls and ceilings
Noise and vibration in technical spaces can reduce comfort and safety. Soliboard TA is a high-mass acoustic panel that limits sound transmission and improves sound insulation. Its dense core absorbs both airborne and structure-borne sound. The panel can be combined with other acoustic materials for tailored performance.
Soliboard TA provides a weighted sound reduction of up to Rw = 26 dB and effectively limits structure-borne vibrations. The halogen-free polyimide foam has a density of 6.4 kg/m³, a thermal conductivity of λ = 0.043 W/(m·K), and performs across a temperature range from –184 °C to +260 °C. Fire performance is certified to Class 1 DM 26.684.
The panel provides sound absorption with an NRC of 0.70 (25 mm) up to 0.85 (50 mm) and can be installed using adhesive or mechanical fixings.
Soliboard TA is suitable for floating floor systems, walls, and ceilings in apartments, offices, technical spaces, and public buildings. It reduces both airborne and structure-borne sound, provides vibration damping and fire safety, and can be combined with other acoustic materials for optimal results.

Answers to common questions
Merford can perform acoustic analyses or simulations to predict noise levels and reverberation times based on material selection, room dimensions, and finishes, ensuring the right solution is designed.
Our acoustic materials generally require minimal maintenance. Dusting and cleaning is usually sufficient to maintain long‑term performance.
- Vibration isolation reduces mechanical vibrations from machines or equipment, preventing transmission to the building structure or floor.
- Sound insulation prevents sound from passing from one space to another, e.g., between rooms or to the exterior.
- Sound absorption reduces echo and reverberation within a space by damping sound waves, improving comfort and speech intelligibility.
Merford materials can provide one or more of these effects depending on the product type, such as absorption panels for rooms or isolation around ventilation units.
