Description

Noise from technical installations can be effectively controlled at the source with the G14EP panel. This modular, lightweight element is designed for outdoor noise barriers. Panels are installed as individual cassettes between steel columns, allowing flexible configurations in height and length. With a weight of approximately 15 kg/m², they are suitable for both ground-level and rooftop installations. The modular design enables the integration of access doors, ventilation louvres and other customised features without compromising acoustic performance.

Properties

G14EP panels are 120 mm thick, with standard heights of 500 mm and lengths available in 1,000 mm increments up to 5,000 mm. The panels achieve a sound insulation rating of Rw = 30 dB and a weighted sound absorption of up to αw = 0.90, tested in accordance with ISO 10140 and ISO 354. The acoustic core is non-combustible in accordance with DIN 4102-A2. Three configurations are available: solid–solid, solid–absorptive and absorptive–absorptive. Panels are finished with a powder coating in a RAL colour of choice and can be combined with doors, windows, steel frames and ventilation components.

Applications

The G14EP panels are suitable for outdoor enclosures and perimeter barriers for transformers, cooling units, compressors, pumps and heat pumps. They provide a solution when noise limits are exceeded by less than 10 dB(A) or when additional environmental noise control is required. The modular system allows ventilation and access solutions to be integrated without reducing acoustic performance, making it suitable for both new installations and refurbishment projects.

Answers to common questions

Answers to the most common technical and practical questions.
What is the lifespan of the panels?

The lifespan depends on the application and environment, but Merford panels are designed for decades of use in industrial and HVAC settings. Materials such as galvanized or stainless steel and moisture-resistant acoustic fillings ensure consistent performance, even under fluctuating temperatures and humidity.

Are the panels suitable for temporary or relocatable structures?

Yes. The modular panels can be quickly assembled, disassembled, and relocated, making them suitable for temporary enclosures, test setups, or reconfigurable industrial spaces. This provides flexibility for renovation projects or changing production environments.

Which frequencies are the panels most effective for?

Merford's modular systems are optimized depending on type: the NoiseTrap® Panel and Blox are specifically designed for enhanced low-frequency attenuation, while SKW provides improved low-to-mid frequency performance due to a higher mass. Our SKS, MSK and G14EP systems primarily provide effective attenuation in the mid-to-high frequency range, with performance gradually decreasing toward lower frequencies.

Can different panels be combined in a single system?

Yes, the modular design makes it possible, for example, to integrate NoiseTrap® Panels with SKS or MSK walls. This allows airflow management and structural sound insulation to be combined in a single installation, provided that installation sequence and air passage are properly considered.
