Eco-coustic Cotton
Weighted sound absorption coefficient up to αw = 0.95
Made from recycled textile fibers
Lightweight, robust, and easy to handle
Eco-coustic Cotton is a sustainable sound-absorbing panel made from recycled textile fibres combined with polyester. Designed for interior spaces where high acoustic performance, sustainability and safety are essential. The panel is lightweight yet robust and suitable for walls, ceilings and freestanding installations. Standard panel dimensions are 1,200 × 1,000 mm with a thickness of 40 mm.
The panel offers a weighted sound absorption coefficient of up to αw = 0.95 (tested to EN 354), effectively reducing reverberation. With a density of 55 kg/m³ and a thermal conductivity of λ = 0.038 W/(m·K), it also contributes to thermal insulation. Eco-coustic Cotton is fire-rated B-s1-d0 according to EN 13501-1, meeting stringent fire safety requirements. The material is non-toxic, odourless and easy to handle, allowing straightforward installation and maintenance.
Eco-coustic Cotton is ideal for offices, schools, studios, auditoria and other interior spaces where acoustic performance and sustainability are priorities. Panels can be mounted on walls or ceilings or incorporated into freestanding partitions to improve the acoustic environment.

Answers to common questions
Merford can perform acoustic analyses or simulations to predict noise levels and reverberation times based on material selection, room dimensions, and finishes, ensuring the right solution is designed.
Our acoustic materials generally require minimal maintenance. Dusting and cleaning is usually sufficient to maintain long‑term performance.
- Vibration isolation reduces mechanical vibrations from machines or equipment, preventing transmission to the building structure or floor.
- Sound insulation prevents sound from passing from one space to another, e.g., between rooms or to the exterior.
- Sound absorption reduces echo and reverberation within a space by damping sound waves, improving comfort and speech intelligibility.
Merford materials can provide one or more of these effects depending on the product type, such as absorption panels for rooms or isolation around ventilation units.
