Merford applies new noise control technology to a London transformer station
In the heart of London, the transformers of a power distribution station could be heard by local residents. Merford installed an acoustic screen with the NoiseTrap® technology developed by Sonobex. A revolutionary metamaterial technology where sound is passively cancelled in the panel and natural ventilation is also possible. Network operator UK Power Networks was the first to successfully use this technology for the substation in the Bayswater district, London.
Merford’s PortCab and MasterCab for Sennebogen: a success story for years
It is almost impossible to overlook Sennebogen’s cranes. Thanks to their distinctive green colour, you know right away that you are dealing with a Sennebogen crane. Their cabins also stand out, partly because of the contrasting color and contemporary layout. Some of Sennebogen’s cranes are fitted with a cabin from Merford, depending on the crane types and customer’s wishes. This has been the standard since the late nineties, to the satisfaction of Sennebogen and the end customers.
Unique control unit for Next Generation Gangway of Barge Master and Bosch Rexroth
Barge Master is a supplier of motion compensation systems for the offshore industry. The Next Generation Gangway is the company's latest innovation. The system transfers people from a ship to, for example, offshore wind turbines or platforms. The machine compensates wave motion, and at the same time stabilizes the gangway for people walking over it. The gangway is also applicable as a crane for light loads. The unique open control unit of the gangway was designed and produced by Merford Cabins, in extensive consultation with Barge Master and Bosch Rexroth.
Bundle cleaner operator sits safe and dry in Merford cabin
Peinemann Equipment supplies machines which clean tube bundles for petrochemical companies. Some types of machine are assembled by the company Burg Equipment. In order to clean the bundles properly, water at a pressure of maximum 1500 bar is sprayed into the pipes. The hard jet of water and the chemical substances released can be dangerous for the operator of the machine. The cabin manufactured by Merford protects the operator from these.

And Merford Noise Control is rightly proud of the acoustic solution provided to reduce CHP noise to acceptable levels. The architect responsible for designing the expansion project had some special requirements.
